  • Sewing Weekend with Polly

This weekend Jolene and I came to Delaware to sew and visit with Aunt Polly.  I have been working on an old wallhanging that I'd never finished and I'm turning it into a lap blanket instead.  In this picture, I'm marking the quilt.  I've just gotten to the point where I'm starting on the machine quilting.  Yesterday we made a trip to Jo-Ann's for supplies.  Cheryl and Queena went too.  Jo-Ann's had such a big sale that everyting we bought was at least 50% off.  We also stopped at Goodwill and I found a pile of great clothes.  It was worth the trip.  It's been such a relaxing time that I called into work and asked for another day off, which was approved, Hooray!

Here, I'm working on basting my layers together.  This piece was left in a hoop for over 10 years so Aunt Polly is helping me to work in the stretched areas.  It's coming along quite nicely.

I'm also working on a queen size quilt that I pieced at last year's sewing retreat.  That one is a trellis with lots of applique and I definitely need Polly's expertise on that.
